New Retail Developments Near Me

The city of Austin is experiencing a retail boom as new retail developments near me continue to crop up. These recent additions are the latest sign that Austin, Texas is continuing its growth spurt and attracting more attention from investors all over the world.

One project in particular is a $1 billion mixed use project proposed for Brodie Oaks Retail Center near the Barton Creek Greenbelt. They are in the early stages however the project could eventually include 1.1M sf of office space, 140k sf of retail and restaurant space, 1600 residences, and 450 hotel rooms. This will provide plenty of food and beverage options within walking distance without having to go too far off course. There will also be pedestrian connections to public parks and the greenbelt nearby.

The shopping center consists of 38 acres and is located at the intersection of South Lamar and Capital of Texas Highway. The rezoning process in Austin is slow so if approved the development wouldn’t start until sometime late in 2022 or 2023.

Because of this great South / Southwest location developers expect this to be popular for businesses, residents, retailers, restaurants, and park, and shoppers.

The city of Austin’s new Major League Soccer Team will for sure spur the development of new retail space in the area.

The Grove at Shoal Creek

Will be a 76 acre mixed use walkable development located near Mopac and 45th street. It’s proposing the development of 125,000 sf of retail space, 180,939 sf of class A office space, and 1700 residential units.

Mueller Business District

26,000 sf of retail space being built right now. This location close to downtown Austin is already surrounded by plenty of retail, restaurants, and office space and only a 5 minute walk from Muellers multifamily and residential neighborhoods.

1836 San Jacinto Blvd

This development is located between the Dell Medical School, University of Texas, and the Texas Capital. Office and retail tenants and shoppers will be able to enjoy a 5 minute walk to the AT&T Executive Education and Conference center and the Dell Seton Medical Center. It will boast over 200,000 sf of Class A office space as well as 18,000 sf of ground level retail space. Delivery is expected April 2021
